Engineering services for businesses that need software to actually work

Every discipline, one standard: it has to be fast, it has to be maintainable by whoever comes next, and it has to be justified by an outcome you can point at. Choose the one you need — or describe the problem and we will tell you which it is.

AI Enablement & Document Automation

AI that does a specific job in your business — invoices and scanned documents read automatically, assistants that answer from your own files, and workflows that remove the copy-paste middle of a process.

Most businesses do not need an AI strategy. They need two or three specific jobs done without a person in the loop — a stack of invoices keyed into an ERP by hand, a support inbox answering the same twelve questions, a weekly report assembled from three systems. We find those jobs, prove they work on your actual documents and data, then build them properly: validated against your business rules, exported into Excel, your ERP or a custom format, with the limits written down and a human handover path that does not depend on the model behaving. Where AI genuinely does not beat a simpler rule or a better form, we say so and build that instead.

What is included

  • A use-case shortlist scored by effort against payback, agreed before any build
  • A feasibility spike on your real documents, not a sample dataset
  • Extraction tested against the awkward formats your suppliers actually send
  • OCR and multilingual handling for scanned and photographed documents

Banking & Fintech Solutions

Digital banking and payment systems built to a regulator standard — Open Banking and PSD2, core banking integration, payment rails, limits and balances, and multi-factor authentication.

Most software can be corrected after launch. Payment and banking software cannot: a limit applied twice, a balance read from the wrong source, or a consent flow that misses a step is a regulatory finding and a customer complaint at the same time. So the effort is front-loaded into specification and assurance — agreeing what each rule means, who owns it and how it will be evidenced before anything is coded. We build the services and interfaces behind retail and corporate banking, integrate the core banking system and payment rails beneath them, and deliberately keep one implementation of each business rule so that a change to a limit or a fee applies everywhere at once. Where a bank or an auditor will ask a question in two years, we write the answer down now.

What is included

  • Domain and integration analysis against the banking interfaces you must use
  • PSD2 and Open Banking API implementation, with SCA and consent flows
  • Core banking integration with reconciliation and defined failure behaviour
  • Payment rail integration: transfers, wallets, billers and remittance partners

Backend & API Development

The server side of a product — REST APIs, database design and the third-party integrations that hold everything together. Built in Python, on FastAPI, Django or Flask.

An API is a contract, and most backend problems are contract problems: an endpoint that returns three different shapes, an authorisation check that lives only in the user interface, a database that was never indexed for the query the business actually runs. We start with the contract — resources, auth, versioning, error format and schema — agree it in writing, and only then write code. That order is what makes a backend something a second team can build against without a walkthrough, and what makes changing it two years later a normal piece of work rather than a project. Where a system is already slow or already old, we measure before we change anything and fix the cause rather than the symptom.

What is included

  • An API contract: resources, authentication, versioning and the error format
  • Schema design, migrations and indexes for PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB
  • Implementation on FastAPI, Django or Flask, whichever fits the product and the team
  • Authentication and per-endpoint authorisation, not just a hidden UI

Legacy Application Modernisation

Windows Forms, Web Forms and Classic ASP brought onto a current platform — incrementally, with the business still running on it the whole time.

A modernisation project fails in the same way a rewrite does: someone estimates it up front, the estimate is wrong, the old system is frozen while the new one is built, and eighteen months later the business is running neither. We work the opposite way round. The old system keeps running and keeps being fixed. Work is sequenced by risk and value rather than by module size, each piece moved is shippable and reversible on its own, and the parts nobody wants to touch get a test harness before they get a new implementation. It is a less dramatic story than a rewrite, and considerably more likely to finish.

What is included

  • A read-only assessment: what the system does, where the risk sits, what is tested
  • A modernisation plan ordered by risk and value, with the trade-offs stated
  • Characterisation tests around the rules that carry money or access
  • Migration of the agreed modules to .NET Core or .NET 8

Web Development

Responsive websites, customer portals and web apps built to load fast, rank well and survive real traffic.

We build the front end of your business: marketing websites that convert, and authenticated portals that replace spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and manual paperwork. Every build ships with clean semantic HTML, measurable Core Web Vitals, and a content structure you can actually edit without calling a developer.

What is included

  • Information architecture and page-by-page wireframes
  • Responsive front end at mobile, tablet and desktop breakpoints
  • CMS-lite content editing or a documented file-based content model
  • Contact and lead-capture forms with spam protection

Data Analytics & Web Scraping

Getting the numbers out of wherever they are sitting — scraped, extracted and cleaned into dashboards and reports that answer a question somebody actually asked.

Most reporting problems are not tooling problems. They are definition problems and plumbing problems: two systems disagree about what "active customer" means, or the same figure is keyed in twice and one of them is a week behind. We start by settling what each number means and where it comes from, then build the shortest path from source to screen. That often means scraping public data that has no API, or pulling from an ERP that has one but no usable reports. The deliverable is something a person opens on a Monday morning and acts on — plus the documentation to keep it running when a source changes underneath it.

What is included

  • A metric definition pass: what each number means and which are trusted
  • A source inventory covering the systems and pages that hold the data
  • Scraping or API extraction with schema validation and change alerts
  • A cleaning and transformation layer, with every rule written down

Mobile Apps & API Integrations

Fintech calculators, dashboards and the API plumbing that connects the systems you already pay for.

Two halves of the same job. On one side, mobile-friendly product experiences: loan and EMI calculators, eligibility tools, booking flows and the dashboards that sit behind them. On the other, the unglamorous integration work — payment gateways, KYC, SMS, WhatsApp, CRM and lead routing — that decides whether any of it actually saves your team time.

What is included

  • Calculator or product-flow specification and formula sign-off
  • Responsive calculator or app UI, tested on low-end Android devices
  • Backend API with authentication, rate limiting and structured error responses
  • Third-party integrations with retry, timeout and failure logging

SEO & Performance Optimization

Technical SEO, Core Web Vitals and content structure — the unglamorous work that decides whether anyone finds you.

Ranking is earned by being crawlable, fast and genuinely more useful than the page above you. We handle the first two completely, and give you a content structure for the third. No purchased links, no doorway pages, no reports full of vanity metrics — changes you can see in Search Console.

What is included

  • Prioritised audit with each issue tied to a measurable impact
  • Index coverage and crawl-budget fixes
  • Core Web Vitals remediation on the highest-traffic templates first
  • Structured data implementation and Rich Results validation

DevOps, Testing & Cloud

Deployments that are boring, reversible and take minutes — with automated tests as a gate, cloud hosting that is reproducible, and backups you have actually tested restoring.

Most teams do not have a deployment process; they have a person who remembers the commands. That works until that person is on leave. We replace it with a repeatable pipeline: containerised builds, automated tests as a gate, one-command deploys to a cloud environment that matches your local one, and a restore drill that proves your backups work before you need them.

What is included

  • Dockerfiles and Compose configuration for each environment
  • CI pipeline that lints, builds and tests on every push
  • Automated test suite: Pytest for logic, Playwright for user flows
  • Automated deployment to AWS or Azure, with health checks and rollback

FAQs

Questions about working with us

Can we start with one service and add others later?

That is how most engagements actually run. A common sequence is a website build first, then an SEO pass once there is something worth ranking, then DevOps when the manual deployment process starts costing real time. Each stage is separately scoped and separately priced.

Do you work fixed price or hourly?

Fixed price against an agreed scope for project work, so the number does not move because the estimate was wrong — that risk sits with us. Ongoing work such as SEO, maintenance or support is a monthly retainer with a defined number of hours.

Who actually does the work?

The senior people who scope your project stay on it through delivery. We keep the team deliberately small and add people as the work grows, so there is no layer of account management between you and the engineers — and no translation loss between what you asked for and what gets built.

What do you need from us to give an accurate quote?

A description of the problem, the outcome you want, and any hard constraints — deadline, existing systems that must be integrated, budget range. For anything involving fee structures or lending rules, send the actual documents: an accurate quote for that kind of work is impossible from a summary.

Can you work alongside our in-house developer?

Yes, and it usually goes well. Typical splits are us building a specific module against your existing stack, or us handling the front end while your team owns the backend. We document interfaces carefully because that boundary is where projects like this fail.

Scope in one call

Which of these do you actually need?

Thirty minutes is usually enough to say. Bring the problem, not a specification — we will help you write that part.
